If your student has a need to recover credit, our year-round credit recovery program is the perfect opportunity.
The new BYU Independent Study credit recovery courses assess what you already know. Students take unit pretests to determine their mastered topics and where to improve. Based on student test performance, our system automatically adapts the course to the student’s level of mastery.

- Open enrollment; 120 days to complete online coursework
- Year-round registration
- Choose from 32 mastery-based core courses, all with support from our teachers, and free tutoring from the BYU Student Success Center!
- Transferable credit to your school; transcript indicates course as credit recovery and not original credit
Credits earned through BYU Independent Study are accepted at all University of California schools, and most universities and colleges in the United States; courses are not NCAA approved.
